Agricultural Center Project for Rescue & Education

CFRCD adopted this project to initiate steps toward a regional agricultural center in response to the need for livestock rescue and education.

Natural disasters, such as flooding, have left livestock owners and their communities at a loss for an option to respond and support the needs of these animals.

Several of the our communities have expressed concern for providing safe animal refuge, a location for reserve supplies, and educational resources including training for local agricultural businesses and new farming professionals.

CFRCD’s initiative would provide agricultural support across the region to farmers, community groups, government entities, and visitors to the region responding to the agritourism initiatives in the State of N.C.
